CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

Dear Penut,

Lacking the ability to contact you directly, I've found the two best ways I can reach you is by placing a thought in your head you think is yours, and through the use of animals. While humans process the sudden appearance of thoughts in their mind as just another thought of their own, sometimes these thoughts are really the urgings of spirit. If you pay close attention, you will find that occasionally very clear thought-suggestions appear suddenly in your mind. They may feel like an urging to take a specific course of action. Many of them will be from me for I am always with you in all ways. When I see I have an opportunity to help, I will take it but only if I am clearly not interfering with your path. You have a path to follow, and while your life may sometimes feel painful and full of problems, issues and setbacks, you must 'remember' that you have signed up for it all. Each avenue, no matter how painful or troublesome, is leading you to greater understanding and ascendence. Although I did not 'remember' this in my own life, I have remembered it now that I am once again in spirit form.

As animals are simple, instinctive creatures we are occasioned the opportunity to 'lead' them through suggestions. Like humans, they are unaware that these thoughts come from outside their own consciousness, but unlike humans they do not ponder – they just act.

I had a dog when I was a boy who looked very much like the dog I sent to you today. His name was Buddy, like my nickname, and he went everywhere I did. In an act of great cruelty, my stepfather made me get rid of Buddy just to deprive me of the love I so desperately needed from others and did not receive. So you see I was damaged long before I damaged myself. I am sorry I was not a better man in life for you as a father, a protector and friend. I see now that my life was a long string of failures I was too unconscious to be aware of, let alone make an effort to change.

Please accept the enthusiastic support I sent to you today through that golden-furred beach dog. Through him I was able to applaud your efforts to honor me and my life.
